We are a global community conservation organization that advances the vision and work of Dr. Jane Goodall. By protecting chimpanzees and inspiring people to conserve the natural world we all share, we improve the lives of people, animals and the environment. Everything is connected—everyone can make a difference.
We advance the vision and work of Dr. Jane Goodall to lead a movement of conservation for the common good—one that builds on our connections to each other, our fellow species, and the natural world we all share. Following in the trailblazing footsteps of our founder, we inspire hope through action, encouraging individuals around the world to join us in taking care of the planet we call home. Whether we’re restoring chimpanzee habitat, improving women’s health in a nearby village, or working with our Roots & Shoots youth groups in nearly 100 countries, we find practical ways to make the greatest lasting impact for people, animals and the environment.
Our mission: Greenpeace is a global, independent campaigning organization that uses peaceful protest and creative communication to expose global environmental problems and promote solutions that are essential to a green and peaceful future.“We ‘bear witness’ to environmental destruction in a peaceful, non-violent manner. We use non-violent confrontation to raise the level and quality of public debate. In exposing threats to the environment and finding solutions we have no permanent allies or adversaries. We ensure our financial independence from political or commercial interests.”
Annie Leonard, Greenpeace USA Executive Director
NRDC works to safeguard the earth—its people, its plants and animals, and the natural systems on which all life depends. We believe the world’s children should inherit a planet that will sustain them as it has sustained us. NRDC works to ensure the rights of all people to the air, the water and the wild, and to prevent special interests from undermining public interests. NRDC experts use data and science to unearth the root causes of the problems that confront us. We use that information to blueprint transformative solutions, and we mobilize the support of partners, members, and activists to advocate for laws and policies that will protect our environment far into the future.
Through collaborative partnerships, we support innovative projects that protect vulnerable wildlife from extinction. In 1998, Leonardo DiCaprio established his foundation with the mission of protecting the world’s last wild places. LDF implements solutions that help restore balance to threatened ecosystems, ensuring the long-term health and well-being of all Earth’s inhabitants. Since that time the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation (LDF) has worked on some of the most pressing environmental issues of our day.
Through grantmaking, public campaigns and media initiatives, LDF brings attention and needed funding to six program areas -- Wildlands Conservation, Oceans Conservation, Climate Change, Indigenous Rights, Transforming California, and Innovative Solutions.. Several successful fundraising events have enabled LDF to scale up our grantmaking strategy, driving support for vitally important projects around the globe.
The Club is America's largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization. Inspired by nature, we are more than 3 million of your friends and neighbors, working together to protect our communities and the planet. We know actions speak louder than words. That’s why we’ve built a national community of volunteers, advocates, and grassroots activists who show up when and where it counts. Our supporters have the tools and resources to make themselves heard in nearly every district in every state across the country. From securing protection for 439 parks and monuments, to winning passage of the Clean Air and Endangered Species Acts, to putting over 274 coal plants on the path to replacement with clean energy, to securing the right of every kid in America to visit a national park, we have an unmatched record of success and impact. The Sierra Club is leading the fight to protect wild places and fragile ecosystems, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and build a clean energy future.
At the Trust for Public Land, we don't just save land—we save land for people to enjoy, from neighborhood parks to national parks. We depend on the ongoing support of individuals to make sure our work carries on well into the future.
Our mission is to create parks and protect land for people, ensuring healthy, livable communities for generations to come. Every park, playground, and public space we create is an open invitation to explore, wonder, discover, and play. We're proud to say that we've been connecting communities to the outdoors—and to each other—since 1972. Today, millions of Americans live within a 10-minute walk of a park or natural area we helped create, and countless more visit every year.
We work to protect your rivers - the main source of clean water for most Americans. American Rivers protects wild rivers, restores damaged rivers, and conserves clean water for people and nature. Since 1973, American Rivers has protected and restored more than 150,000 miles of rivers through advocacy efforts, on-the-ground projects, and an annual America’s Most Endangered Rivers® campaign. Headquartered in Washington, DC, American Rivers has offices across the country and more than 200,000 members, supporters, and volunteers.

We're proud of what we've accomplished since our founding in 1951: The Nature Conservancy has protected more than 117 million acres of land and 5,000 miles of rivers worldwide — and we operate more than 100 marine conservation projects globally.
We have more than 1 million members and work in all 50 United States and 72 countries around the world — protecting habitats from grasslands to coral reefs, from Australia to Alaska to Zambia.
We address threats to conservation involving climate change, fire, fresh water, forests, invasive species, and marine ecosystems.

Our people: We're one of the world's largest environmental organizations, with more than two million members and a staff of 700 scientists, economists, policy experts, and other professionals around the world.
Our values: We believe prosperity and environmental stewardship must go hand in hand. We're optimists, because we have seen smart ideas make a huge difference. And we build strong partnerships across interests to ensure lasting success.
Our focus: We address today's most urgent environmental challenges. Working in partnership with others, we focus where we're best positioned to help, based on our strengths.
charity: water is a non-profit bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. In just ten years, we've funded more than 29,000 water projects in 26 developing countries. When complete, these projects will provide clean, safe drinking water for more than 8.4 million people.
Nearly 663 million people in our world don’t have access to clean drinking water. Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of diseases and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.
The good news: there are simple solutions, from deep drilled wells to water filtration systems. And with the help of 1,000,000+ donors and individual fundraisers, we're forming a strong force against the water crisis.
Our vision is of a peaceful and sustainable world based on societies living in harmony with nature.
We envision a society of interdependent people living in dignity, wholeness and fulfilment in which equity and human and peoples' rights are realized.
This will be a society built upon peoples' sovereignty and participation. It will be founded on social, economic, gender and environmental justice and be free from all forms of domination and exploitation, such as neoliberalism, corporate globalization, neo-colonialism and militarism.
We believe that our children's future will be better because of what we do.
Ocean Conservancy is working with you to protect our ocean from today’s greatest global challenges. Together, we create science-based solutions for a healthy ocean and the wildlife and communities that depend on it. Ocean Conservancy is working hard to see that the ocean's most extraordinary places are preserved for future generations to use and enjoy. One of the things I’m most proud of at Ocean Conservancy is that we tackle the greatest global challenges facing our ocean today.

What happens to the ocean impacts all of us. The ocean is our responsibility, but we can’t do it alone—we need to join forces with you and people around the world to keep our ocean and our coastal communities healthy and prosperous.

We are a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment.
We work for you. Do you know what's in your tap water? What about your shampoo? What’s lurking in the cleaners underneath your sink? What pesticides are on your food? How about the farms, fracking wells and factories in your local area? Do you know what safeguards they use to protect your water, soil, air and your kids? Which large agribusinesses get your tax dollars and why? What are GMOs? What do they do to our land and water?
More than two decades ago EWG set out to answer these questions, and more, and to empower you to get to know your environment and protect your health.

WE ARE WOMEN AND GIRLS FROM EVERY CORNER OF THE PLANET BUILDING A LIFESTYLE REVOLUTION TO FIGHT THE CLIMATE CRISIS.
We're taking the first steps by inspiring 1 million women to take practical action on climate change in their everyday lives to cut carbon dioxide (CO2), the main greenhouse pollutant leading to climate change.
If 1 million women all cut 1 tonne each of carbon pollution, it would equal to 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide. This is the equivalent of growing a new forest of 5 million trees. We're building a lifestyle revolution to fight the climate crisis and we need you. Will you join the movement. Join us and be counted. We are a mass movement of women and girls transforming society by taking practical action on climate change in our everyday lives to cut pollution, reduce waste, save energy and lead change!
